"On the evening of Christmas
day, 2004, while my wife and I visited my wife’s parents in California, I
experienced severe lower back pain while getting up off the couch. I was
unable to sit, stand, walk or do anything else without excruciating pain
that gripped the small of my back and shot down my right leg. I couldn’t
lie down without assistance, and I could not get into a car to see a
doctor. The pain was so bad it literally brought tears to my eyes. This
went on for two more days until a friend suggested acupuncture.
We were given the name of Minerva De Lauren. Two days after
Christmas we called her and she agreed to do a home visit. I could not get
into a car to visit her office. This was the
first acupuncture treatment I’d ever had, and did not know what to expect.
Minerva came in, conveyed confidence in being able to help me, explained
what she was going to do, had me lie on a table and proceeded to treat me
for approximately an hour. At the end of the hour I was astounded! I was
able to get up off the table, walk and sit with almost no pain. I was in
disbelief. The following day I was able to get into a car and visit her
office for a second treatment, and the day after that was able to fly home
comfortably as if none of this back pain had even happened.
The treatment was painless – I never felt the needles. Minerva was
reassuring, gentle, professional and if results are any indicator,
extremely competent! I have since visited with an acupuncturist in our
